If you're unsure, feel free to contact us. We're happy to help you choose the best fit.
Do your boots fit true to size?
Fit varies slightly by model. Many Samelin boots run a little large, which is why checking the size guide is important before ordering.
What should I expect during the break-in period?
New leather footwear typically requires a period of wear before it fully conforms to your foot. How long this takes — and where you feel it most — varies by model, leather type, and construction. Some boots loosen noticeably within a few wears; others take longer. A small amount of initial stiffness or light pressure at the heel or toe box is common, but the experience differs from one model to the next, and not all boots follow the same path.
How should I start wearing a new pair of boots?
Graduated wear helps leather adapt without putting excessive strain on your feet. Start with shorter periods — an hour or two around the house or on easier days — before moving to longer walks or full work days. This gives both the leather and your feet time to adjust. Wearing appropriate socks also makes a meaningful difference: a medium-weight, well-fitted sock can cushion pressure points and reduce friction during the early stages.
How can I reduce the risk of blisters?
Blisters are most often caused by friction at a specific point — heel slip, a tight toe box, or a seam hitting the wrong place. To reduce the risk, start with shorter wears, use socks with some thickness and cushioning, and pay attention to where you feel pressure building. Protective patches or blister-prevention balm applied to friction-prone areas can help during the first few wears. Avoid wearing new boots through an unusually long or wet day until they've had time to break in.
When do pain or recurring blisters suggest a fit issue?
Some initial discomfort is expected as leather adjusts. But if you're experiencing sharp or persistent pain, blisters that return to the same spot after multiple wears, or significant pressure at the same area even after the leather has had time to soften, that may point to a fit issue rather than a break-in issue. Not every problem resolves with time — sometimes the last shape or the sizing isn't the right match for a particular foot. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you work out whether the fit is likely to improve or whether a different size or model would suit you better.
Products, Origin & Care
Where are your products made?
We work with independent European manufacturers and small workshops. Many of our boots and bags are made in Estonia and other parts of Europe, depending on the product.
What makes your products different?
Our products are selected for long-term use, durable materials, and practical construction. We focus on items built for real use rather than seasonal trends.
How should I care for leather products?
Proper care helps extend product lifespan. For detailed guidance, see our Leather & Textile Care Guide.
Are your products made to last?
That is the goal. We prioritize durable materials, reliable construction, and products that can stay in use for years when properly cared for.
