Winter Boots Care Guide

Winter exposes boots to moisture, road salt and repeated temperature changes. A short routine after wear helps protect leather and textiles without over-treating them.

After each wet or salty wear

  1. Brush off dry dirt.
  2. Remove visible salt with a lightly damp microfiber cloth.
  3. Remove insoles when appropriate.
  4. Let the boots dry naturally at room temperature.

Avoid direct heat

Radiators, heated floors and hair dryers can dry leather too quickly and affect adhesives and structure. Give boots time and ventilation instead.

Clean only as needed

Use products suitable for the exact material. Smooth leather, nubuck, suede and technical textile should not automatically receive the same treatment.

Restore protection

Once the boots are clean and fully dry, apply an appropriate protector according to its instructions. Water-repellent leather remains different from a fully waterproof construction.

Condition smooth leather carefully

Apply a small amount when the leather needs it. Avoid heavy conditioners on nubuck or suede unless the manufacturer recommends them.

Storage

Store clean, dry boots in a ventilated area. Use paper or shoe trees to support shape and avoid prolonged compression.
